Mary Jane Berlin se stává největším světovým veletrhem konopí

Berlin, June 16, 2025 – Germany has emerged as a central hub for the global cannabis industry following the partial legalization of cannabis by the ruling ‘traffic light’ coalition government. The upcoming Mary Jane Berlin event, taking place from June 19 to 22, 2025, is set to become the largest cannabis trade fair in the world. The fair will host over 500 exhibitors and is expected to attract around 60,000 visitors, marking a significant growth from its inception in 2016.

This year, the exhibition will cover more than 70,000 square meters, showcasing a variety of products and innovations. Notable figures such as former world boxing champion Mike Tyson will present new offerings, while performances from popular artists like Samy Deluxe will entertain attendees. A professional conference will also be held, featuring discussions on home cultivation, the rising demand for medical cannabis, and advancements in telemedicine.

The financial impact of cannabis legalization in Germany is evident, with projections estimating market revenues to reach approximately one billion euros in 2025. Nhung Nguyen, the organizer and co-founder of the fair, stated, “We started as a small scene gathering and are now the largest cannabis trade fair in the world. When it came to cannabis, the world used to look to the U.S. – now it looks to Germany, and Mary Jane is the highlight of the industry.”

In anticipation of the event, a record 40,000 tickets have been sold in advance. The first-ever B2B day on June 19 has attracted 5,000 industry representatives from 50 countries. The professional conference, in collaboration with the Cannabis Industry Association (BvCW), will feature 90 distinguished speakers from various sectors including business, science, and politics. Nguyen emphasized the fair’s goal to promote the benefits of cannabis and the necessity of legalization.

The increase in cannabis usage in Germany is significant, with approximately 4.5 million users, a figure that has nearly doubled over the last 15 years. The new legal framework has particularly boosted the medical cannabis market, with imports rising dramatically throughout 2024. The Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices reported an increase in imported medical cannabis from 8.1 tons in the first quarter to 31.7 tons by the fourth quarter of 2024.

At the fair, numerous medical cannabis distributors will exhibit their products and services. Additionally, telemedicine services are gaining traction, allowing patients to order cannabis prescriptions online and receive deliveries directly from pharmacies. Nguyen noted, “The medical community is increasingly recognizing the plant’s value in treating illnesses and relieving pain. Initial hesitations from doctors and pharmacies are slowly dissolving.”

Attendees can also explore the latest trends in the industry, including digitalized balcony greenhouses for home gardening, a range of cannabis-infused edibles, and various non-intoxicating CBD products. Nguyen highlighted that Mary Jane aims to cater to diverse audiences, ensuring a comfortable environment by prohibiting smoking indoors. The fair will also feature chill-out areas, food trucks, and awareness teams to create an enjoyable atmosphere for all visitors.
