Konop\u00ed se z tabuizovan\u00e9ho t\u00e9matu stalo rychle se rozv\u00edjej\u00edc\u00edm pr\u016fmyslov\u00fdm odv\u011btv\u00edm, kter\u00e9 vyvol\u00e1v\u00e1 debaty a m\u011bn\u00ed ekonomiku. Pro ty, kte\u0159\u00ed si pamatuj\u00ed doby, kdy se o marihuan\u011b mluvilo s odporem, je sou\u010dasn\u00e1 situace pozoruhodn\u00e1. Tento \u010dl\u00e1nek se zab\u00fdv\u00e1 v\u00fdvojem konop\u00ed od dob prohibice a\u017e po jeho sou\u010dasnou ziskovost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Na konci 19. a po\u010d\u00e1tku 20. stolet\u00ed nebylo konop\u00ed vn\u00edm\u00e1no negativn\u011b. Bylo b\u011b\u017en\u011b sou\u010d\u00e1st\u00ed tinktur a l\u00e9k\u016f, zn\u00e1m\u00fdch sv\u00fdmi l\u00e9\u010debn\u00fdmi \u00fa\u010dinky. V pr\u016fb\u011bhu 20. stolet\u00ed v\u0161ak za\u010daly jeho vn\u00edm\u00e1n\u00ed ovliv\u0148ovat m\u011bn\u00edc\u00ed se spole\u010densk\u00e9 postoje. P\u0159\u00edchod mexick\u00fdch p\u0159ist\u011bhovalc\u016f po mexick\u00e9 revoluci zavedl do americk\u00e9 kultury rekrea\u010dn\u00ed konop\u00ed, ale rostouc\u00ed xenofobie vedla k jeho spojov\u00e1n\u00ed s kriminalitou a deviacemi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ve 30. letech 20. stolet\u00ed se postoj v\u016f\u010di konop\u00ed v\u00fdrazn\u011b zm\u011bnil. Feder\u00e1ln\u00ed \u00fa\u0159ad pro narkotika pod veden\u00edm Harryho J. Anslingera zah\u00e1jil proti marihuan\u011b intenzivn\u00ed kampa\u0148. Senza\u010dn\u00ed p\u0159\u00edb\u011bhy a filmy, jako nap\u0159\u00edklad \"Reefer Madness\", l\u00ed\u010dily konop\u00ed jako nebezpe\u010dnou l\u00e1tku. Vyvrcholen\u00edm byl z\u00e1kon o dani z marihuany z roku 1937, kter\u00fd konop\u00ed v cel\u00e9 zemi fakticky kriminalizoval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kontrakulturn\u00ed hnut\u00ed 60. a 70. let 20. stolet\u00ed p\u0159ijalo konop\u00ed jako symbol rebelie, ale establishment se tomu br\u00e1nil. Z\u00e1kon o kontrolovan\u00fdch l\u00e1tk\u00e1ch z roku 1970 za\u0159adil marihuanu do seznamu I, tvrdil, \u017ee nem\u00e1 \u017e\u00e1dnou l\u00e9ka\u0159skou hodnotu, a za\u0159adil ji po bok l\u00e1tek jako heroin a LSD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

V\u00fdznamn\u00fd zlom nastal v 90. letech, kdy Kalifornie v roce 1996 p\u0159ijala n\u00e1vrh 215, kter\u00fd legalizoval l\u00e9\u010debnou marihuanu. Toto p\u0159elomov\u00e9 rozhodnut\u00ed uznalo potenci\u00e1ln\u00ed l\u00e9\u010debn\u00e9 \u00fa\u010dinky t\u00e9to rostliny, zejm\u00e9na pro pacienty s chronick\u00fdmi onemocn\u011bn\u00edmi. Ostatn\u00ed st\u00e1ty si toho v\u0161imly a za\u010daly p\u0159ehodnocovat roli konop\u00ed v medic\u00edn\u011b a spole\u010dnosti, co\u017e vedlo k postupn\u00e9mu posunu ve vn\u00edm\u00e1n\u00ed ve\u0159ejnosti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ve 21. stolet\u00ed do\u0161lo v politice konop\u00ed k dramatick\u00e9 zm\u011bn\u011b. V roce 2012 se Colorado a Washington dostaly na tituln\u00ed str\u00e1nky novin t\u00edm, \u017ee legalizovaly rekrea\u010dn\u00ed u\u017e\u00edv\u00e1n\u00ed marihuany, zpochybnily feder\u00e1ln\u00ed z\u00e1kony a povzbudily dal\u0161\u00ed st\u00e1ty, aby p\u0159ehodnotily sv\u00e9 vlastn\u00ed pr\u00e1vn\u00ed postoje.
