On June 4, 2025, at approximately 10:15 a.m., Broxton Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop on George Deen Road, near the Broxton cemetery. The officers pulled over a 2007 Nissan Sentra driven by 34-year-old Johnny Alexander Davis, a resident of Broxton. During the stop, Davis consented to a search of his vehicle.
The search revealed two containers containing suspected methamphetamine and marijuana. As a result, Davis was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana. He was subsequently transported to the Coffee County Jail.
A passenger in the Sentra was not charged and was released after the incident. This traffic stop exemplifies the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to address drug possession in the community, even during hours typically associated with lower rates of drug-related offenses.
