The Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) has officially published the rules for cannabis regulation, allowing the agency to start issuing business licenses. This announcement came on Monday, April 14, marking a significant step in the state’s cannabis industry development.
Applicants who have completed all necessary steps in the application process are now eligible to receive their business licenses from the OCM. Among these, qualified social equity applicants, who do not have to enter a lottery system, are expected to be among the first to secure licenses and open dispensaries in Minnesota.
Additionally, applicants seeking capped licenses will be selected through a lottery system this summer. A downloadable version of the newly adopted rules is available on the OCM’s website under the Rulemaking section.
