Kentucky beginnt mit dem Bau einer Einrichtung zur Einhaltung der Vorschriften für medizinischen Cannabis

Construction has commenced on Kentucky’s first medical cannabis safety compliance facility, marking a pivotal development in the state’s medical cannabis program. This facility is one of seven planned across Kentucky to ensure the safety and accessibility of medical marijuana for over 10,000 registered patients.

Governor Andy Beshear announced that these compliance facilities, along with 48 proposed dispensaries, will create a robust framework aimed at assisting individuals with chronic pain, PTSD, cancer, and other serious health conditions. “We’ve been working to create one of the best medical cannabis systems in the country. This is another step in prioritizing patient care,” said Beshear.

Currently, 39 of the 48 dispensaries have received approval, although none are operational yet. As a result, medical cannabis cardholders will not face renewal fees in 2026.

The compliance facilities are critical for ensuring that all products sold at dispensaries are safe, allowing patients to know exactly what they are consuming and where it originates. Governor Beshear emphasized their importance, stating, “These labs will guarantee that medical cannabis is both accessible and safe for all users.”

Once the dispensaries are up and running, the Office of Medical Cannabis will maintain a Dispensary Directory to help patients locate nearby outlets. This directory will be available at kymedcan.ky.gov, streamlining access for those in need of medical cannabis products.
