Behörden beschlagnahmen über 7.000 illegale Cannabispflanzen in Oregon

On June 18, 2023, law enforcement officials in Cave Junction, Oregon, confiscated more than 7,000 illegal cannabis plants along with approximately 300 pounds of processed cannabis. The operation was carried out by the Josephine County Marijuana Enforcement Team (JMET), which executed a search warrant at a property located on the 31000 block of Redwood Highway.

This raid was supported by several agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), United States Marshals Service (USMS), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and the Illegal Marijuana Enforcement Team (IMET).

During the search, authorities discovered multiple violations related to electrical, water, and solid waste management codes. These infractions may lead to the seizure of the property. While the suspects responsible for the illegal grow operation were not present during the raid, JMET announced that they would face charges related to the unlawful manufacturing and possession of cannabis, as well as illegal water appropriation, if located.

The investigation into the illegal cultivation is still underway as law enforcement continues to gather evidence and pursue the individuals involved. This raid underscores ongoing efforts by authorities to combat illegal cannabis operations in the region.
