La Universidad de Mississippi inicia el primer ensayo clínico con cannabis medicinal para el dolor nervioso diabético

The University of Mississippi (UM) has launched its first-ever clinical trial to investigate the effects of medical cannabis on diabetic nerve pain. This significant study is part of a growing effort to explore cannabis as an alternative treatment for chronic pain conditions.

The National Center for Cannabis Research and Education (NCCRE) is overseeing the trial, which aims to track patient outcomes effectively. Mississippi’s medical cannabis program has gained momentum since voters passed Initiative 65, allowing for research into the therapeutic potential of cannabis.

Participants in the trial will receive doses of cannabis products specifically tailored to assess their impact on diabetic nerve pain. The research team at UM hopes to provide valuable insights into how medical cannabis can alleviate symptoms for patients suffering from this debilitating condition.
