Erie County authorities seized more than 10 pounds of suspected cannabis during a search warrant execution at a residence in Sloan on Thursday morning. The operation was led by Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia and involved the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Intelligence Unit, Buffalo Police Department Intelligence Unit, the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force.
Martino Carter, a 36-year-old resident of Sloan, was taken into custody without incident while in the driveway of his home on the 100 block of Jackson Avenue. He faces multiple charges, including first-degree possession of cannabis and second-degree criminal possession of drug paraphernalia. Additionally, Carter is charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
In addition to the cannabis, authorities confiscated two illegal handguns and a loaded extended magazine. Carter is currently held at the Erie County Holding Center as the investigation continues.
