CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. — A fire at the Twisted Peach Growing cannabis dispensary caused significant damage on Wednesday afternoon, but fortunately, no injuries were reported. Firefighters arrived on the scene to find heavy smoke emanating from the building, located in Vista Point Plaza.
According to Cathedral City Fire Chief Vinny Salazar, the fire likely originated from an air conditioning unit. Fire crews were able to respond quickly since they were already nearby. Salazar noted, ‘When we got inside, there was a decent amount of smoke coming from the back grill room. We’ve done a great job of locating the scene of the fire and getting it knocked down.’
The swift action of the fire department prevented further damage and ensured the safety of individuals in the vicinity. Firefighters confirmed a primary all-clear, indicating that no one was trapped or injured during the incident.
As crews finished their work at Vista Point Plaza, they redirected to another, unrelated fire at a location called Sky Blue.
This incident highlights the importance of fire safety measures in commercial establishments, especially those in specialized industries such as cannabis. Local authorities continue to monitor the situation and assess the extent of the damages.
Residents and business owners are encouraged to review their fire safety protocols to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
