In Glendale, Arizona, two women were arrested for leaving four children, including a seven-month-old, unattended in a parked car while they went to a bar. The incident occurred on March 8 around 11 PM when a bystander observed a young child wandering in the parking lot and alerted the police. Upon arrival, officers discovered a bag of marijuana in the glove compartment, accessible to the children.
The women returned approximately 45 minutes later, visibly intoxicated and with slurred speech. Initially, they claimed they had only gone to the Salt Tacos y Tequila Bar to use the restroom. However, officers informed them that they had been away for much longer. One woman eventually admitted to consuming alcohol, while the other insisted they had only been inside for 15 minutes, a statement contradicted by police observations.
When officers began to take custody of the children, one woman expressed distress, saying, “Like seriously, they’re the only things I’ve got. I know this is super, super bad, I promise … My heart’s about to explode.” Both women now face charges of criminal negligence and child abuse. The children were taken to a hospital for a checkup, emphasizing the serious implications of leaving minors unsupervised in potentially hazardous situations.
