Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrests in Kinston

On May 30, Kinston Police Department’s D-Squad officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 70 West, resulting in the arrest of two men for drug-related offenses. At approximately 11 a.m., K-9 Kilo assisted the officers during the stop, uncovering a significant amount of illegal substances.

The driver, 26-year-old Michael Bridgers Jr. from Macclesfield, was found in possession of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and marijuana. He faces multiple charges, including: – Possession With Intent to Sell/Deliver Marijuana – Sell/Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance – Felony Possession of Cocaine – Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia

A passenger in the vehicle, 33-year-old Robert Cannon, also from Macclesfield, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Both individuals were taken to the Lenoir County Jail, where they are currently held on secured bonds. This incident highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to address drug activity in the area.
