The town of Haverstraw now has its first legal cannabis dispensary, 202 Cannabis Co., which opened its doors on West Ramapo Road in Garnerville. The establishment is set in a former bank building and marks a significant addition to the local cannabis market. Owners Gregory and Milka Pereira launched the dispensary after a year-long approval process, joining over 370 adult-use dispensaries operating across New York State.
202 Cannabis Co. offers a diverse selection of products, including kosher cannabis goods, catering to various customer preferences. For convenience, the dispensary features a drive-thru service, allowing customers to purchase products without entering the store.
Gregory Pereira, who has experience in substance abuse and harm reduction, expressed his belief in the positive impact of cannabis on community health. He pointed out that while some oppose marijuana use, he has witnessed its benefits firsthand, particularly in contrast to alcohol consumption. “Nobody has bar fights with cannabis,” Pereira remarked.
The opening of 202 Cannabis Co. represents a growing trend in New York, where cannabis legalization has led to an expanding market. The dispensary aims to contribute positively to the community by providing accessible cannabis products and promoting responsible use.
