Curaleaf Names Rahul Pinto as New President to Drive Growth

Curaleaf Holdings Inc., a leading provider of consumer cannabis products, has appointed Rahul Pinto as its new president, effective immediately. This new role aims to strengthen the company’s leadership team as it embarks on its next phase of growth. Pinto will work closely with Chairman and CEO Boris Jordan to implement Curaleaf’s strategic vision.

Pinto brings over 20 years of experience in executive roles within the consumer packaged goods (CPG) and retail sectors, having previously worked at major companies such as Albertsons, PepsiCo, and Bacardi. His most recent position involved leading Albertsons’ shift toward a technology-driven retail model, which included strategic planning surrounding Kroger’s acquisition attempt. With an engineering background and an MBA from The Wharton School, Pinto is recognized for his analytical approach and ability to drive significant business transformations.

In his new role at Curaleaf, Pinto expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity, stating, “Curaleaf has set a standard of excellence across the U.S. and international cannabis market that I am eager to uphold and continue to build upon.” He aims to leverage his expertise to create lasting value and enhance the company’s position as a leader in the global cannabis market.

To support Pinto’s leadership, Curaleaf has also announced the hiring of three senior vice presidents: Helen Chen, Senior Vice President of Digital; Scott Crawford, Senior Vice President of Retail Merchandising and Marketing; and Justin Miller, Senior Vice President of Brand Marketing. Each of these leaders brings a wealth of experience and expertise from their previous roles in major corporations.

Helen Chen joins from Pernod Ricard USA, where she gained expertise in e-commerce and digital transformation. Scott Crawford has over two decades of experience in retail from companies like Baldor Foods and FreshDirect. Justin Miller has spent 20 years building renowned brands in the spirits industry with companies such as Diageo and William Grant & Sons. All three will report jointly to Jordan and Pinto, contributing to the strategic direction of Curaleaf from their base in Stamford, Connecticut.

CEO Boris Jordan welcomed these new leaders, highlighting Pinto’s proven track record in enhancing competitive advantage for major brands. He stated, “With the addition of our new digital, brand marketing, and retail merchandising leadership, we are bringing in a wealth of talent that further positions us for continued success in today’s dynamic environment.”

Curaleaf aims to leverage this enhanced leadership to further its objectives in the cannabis market, focusing on innovative brand-building across its product lines and retail locations. As the company expands its footprint in the cannabis industry, these strategic appointments are expected to drive Curaleaf’s growth and reinforce its status as a prominent player in the global cannabis landscape.
