Seth Rogen recently shared that Singapore’s strict drug laws are the only thing that could stop him from consuming cannabis for a few days. The actor discussed his cannabis habits during an appearance on “The Howard Stern Show.” He confirmed that while he typically smokes daily, he abstained during a trip to Singapore in either 2011 or 2012 due to the country’s severe penalties for drug use. Rogen candidly noted, “They will literally f**king kill you if you smoke in that country.”
He humorously added that upon arrival, travelers receive a warning in their passport stating, “If we find drugs on you we will execute you.” In Singapore, all forms of cannabis use are illegal. The Central Narcotics Bureau of Singapore outlines that possession can lead to imprisonment and heavy fines, while those involved in trafficking face the death penalty.
When Howard Stern suggested that such stringent laws might deter cannabis users, Rogen joked that anyone with a drug problem should visit Singapore. Currently, Rogen is starring in the entertainment satire “The Studio,” where he reflected on his relationship with cannabis in a recent interview with The Guardian. He remarked on his unique ability to process THC, referring to its therapeutic role in his daily life, which he no longer questions or thinks about.
