Virginia Beach Police Seize Marijuana Products in Smoke Shop Investigation

The Virginia Beach Police Department recently conducted searches at two smoke shops on Virginia Beach Boulevard due to suspected illegal marijuana distribution. This operation took place on March 14 and was part of a larger narcotics investigation.

During the searches, officers seized various items, including raw marijuana, marijuana products, and synthetic cannabinoids. The police stated that the investigation is ongoing and more details may emerge as they continue their work.

According to Virginia law, cannabis products containing hemp and THCA must have a THC content of 0.3% or lower for legal sale. Any product exceeding this limit is classified as marijuana. Authorities also noted a rise in burglaries at smoke shops, which they believe is linked to the presence of illegal THC products in the area.

The Virginia Beach Police Department emphasized their commitment to investigating these illegal activities. They stated, “We will continue to investigate and hold accountable those who engage in illegal distribution, as well as those who commit related crimes.” Their aim is to ensure a safe environment for all residents and businesses in Virginia Beach.
