The St. Cloud Planning Commission will discuss various development proposals, including a retail cannabis store, during its meeting on Tuesday, May 13. The agenda includes five public hearings that focus on community housing and commercial projects.
One of the key items on the agenda is a proposal to amend a planned unit development to establish a cannabis retail location at 2102 Eighth St. N. The application for this retail cannabis store has been submitted by Centennial Plaza LLC.
In addition to the cannabis retail proposal, the Commission will consider other significant developments. These include plans to construct Elm Ridge Apartments, a 40-unit complex aimed at individuals with extremely low incomes and a history of housing instability, submitted by Center City Housing.
The Commission is also set to review a request for a three-stall addition at Legacy Auto Sales, located at 500 25th Ave. N., to facilitate minor motor vehicle repairs. Additionally, Kyle Mangel has submitted a request for commercial and multi-family housing development at 4509 and 4119 33rd St. S.
Another noteworthy item on the agenda is a proposal to amend the city’s land development code to incorporate a substitution clause for non-commercial messages.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at City Hall, located at 1201 Seventh Ave. S. This gathering presents an opportunity for community members to voice their opinions on these developments, particularly the retail cannabis proposal, which is part of a growing trend in urban planning and local governance.
