Los Angeles County seizes over $5.5 million in illegal cannabis

Los Angeles County – On May 22, 2025, the Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) announced a successful operation in collaboration with local police departments that resulted in the closure of an unlicensed cannabis retailer. Law enforcement officials confiscated illegal cannabis products valued at over $5.5 million during the operation. The seizure included:

– 2,900 pounds of illegal cannabis flower – 114 pounds of illegal cannabis edibles – 83 pounds of illegal cannabis concentrate – 76 pounds of illegal cannabis vape cartridges

In addition to the confiscated products, investigators discovered evidence potentially linking the operation to human trafficking, which is now under investigation.

The DCC continues its efforts to protect public safety and maintain a regulated cannabis market by targeting illegal cannabis operations that pose risks to communities. This recent enforcement action underscores the ongoing challenges faced in regulating the cannabis industry in California.
