Police in the town of Campbell, Wisconsin, played a key role in a multi-state investigation that resulted in the seizure of 62 pounds of cannabis. This operation, initiated after an alert from Boulder, Colorado authorities, aimed to intercept a large shipment destined for French Island.
On June 5, local officers executed a search warrant at a residence located at 909 Hanson Road. The search led to the recovery of not only the cannabis but also six firearms, psilocybin mushrooms, and various drug paraphernalia.
Steve Harter, 40, has been charged with multiple offenses, including possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, manufacturing or delivering cannabis, possession of psilocybin, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He appeared in La Crosse County Circuit Court on June 6 and is currently free on a $5,000 signature bond. As of now, a formal criminal complaint has not been filed against him, and the investigation remains active, with the possibility of additional charges.
This case highlights ongoing concerns regarding drug trafficking between states and the efforts of local law enforcement to combat illegal drug distribution.
