An Indiana man received multiple citations following a traffic stop in Plainfield, Illinois, on May 13. Byron Y. Raymundo Fajardo, 24, was found with cannabis, cocaine, and brass knuckles after police pulled over the vehicle for minor equipment violations. The stop occurred around 7:22 p.m. near Route 30 and Lily Cache Road.
Fajardo was seated in the back of an orange Toyota Corolla without a seatbelt when officers approached the vehicle. The driver of the car did not possess a valid driver’s license, prompting further investigation. During the stop, police used a K-9 unit, which alerted them to the presence of illegal substances in the vehicle.
Upon searching the car, officers discovered Fajardo in possession of cannabis, with the quantity exceeding 10 grams but less than 30 grams, as well as cocaine. Additionally, he had brass knuckles, which fall under unlawful weapon possession.
While processing Fajardo, police identified that the Guatemalan identification card he presented was fake. As a result, he was issued several citations: – Possession of a controlled substance – Unlawful use of a weapon – Unlawful possession of cannabis by a passenger – Possession of cannabis, more than 10 grams but less than 30 grams – Attempt to possess or display a fictitious or altered identification card
