New Britain has officially opened its first cannabis dispensary, Nova Farms, located at 623 Hartford Road. The grand opening took place on Thursday, drawing in family, friends, customers, and city officials. Nova Farms is set to serve both medical and recreational cannabis users in the community.
Owner Jason Teal expressed his excitement, stating that this project has been in the works since 2016. He emphasized the dispensary’s commitment to the medical side of cannabis, highlighting that a pharmacist will be present at the dispensary every hour to assist customers. Teal plans to develop nutritional plans tailored to individuals, focusing on plant-based medicine, with cannabis being one key component.
Teal’s motivation for starting Nova Farms stemmed from witnessing the negative effects of the “war on drugs,” which he believes has separated families and disrupted lives due to cannabis-related charges. He aims to create a positive impact in the community through this new venture.
