Ice-T, the iconic rapper and actor from New Jersey, has officially launched The Medicine Woman Jersey City, a new cannabis dispensary co-owned with entrepreneur Charis Burrett. The dispensary had a soft opening on March 27, 2025, and is set to celebrate its grand opening on April 19-20, 2025. Customers who showed Ice-T’s Instagram post at the soft opening received a 25% discount on their entire order.
Located at 660 Tonnelle Avenue, The Medicine Woman is easily accessible from Route 1 & 9, catering to both locals and visitors. The facility spans 10,000 square feet, with 3,000 square feet dedicated to retail space, executive offices, and plans for an additional 4,000 square feet for future cannabis consumption and manufacturing. Customers will also benefit from a newly constructed parking lot that includes electric vehicle charging stations.
The Medicine Woman is more than just a dispensary; it represents a commitment to social justice. Ice-T emphasized the importance of giving back to the community, stating that the mission goes beyond selling cannabis and focuses on creating opportunities and correcting injustices in areas impacted by the War on Drugs.
Charis Burrett expressed excitement about the official opening, highlighting the potential for the East Coast to become a leading cannabis market. She stated that their goal is to provide the community with safe access to high-quality cannabis products that meet their high standards. The dispensary also aims to promote workforce development by collaborating with Hudson County Community College (HCCC) to offer students hands-on experience, internships, and job placements in the cannabis industry.
In addition to product offerings, The Medicine Woman has partnered with the Last Prisoner Project, advocating for the release of individuals imprisoned for nonviolent cannabis offenses. This partnership underscores the dispensary’s mission to address social injustices related to cannabis laws.
During the soft opening, Ice-T provided special incentives, including discounts for customers who showed his Instagram post and unique giveaways for the first purchasers. The grand opening on April 19 will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony, live music, and local food vendors, promising a festive atmosphere for the community.
Overall, The Medicine Woman Jersey City aims to be a leader not only in cannabis sales but also in social equity and community support.
