HoneyStash opens as Metuchen's first cannabis dispensary

Metuchen has welcomed its first cannabis dispensary, HoneyStash, which officially opened at 700 Middlesex Avenue, directly opposite the Middlesex County Greenway. This new establishment is notable for its wellness-oriented focus, featuring small-batch, hand-packaged cannabis sourced from independent growers.

HoneyStash carries a range of products from various brands, including Brighterside Farms, EV Family Farms, Neptune’s Garden, Bass River Buds, Jerzey Grown, Hillview Farms, Sun Extractions, Onyx, Niche, Garden Greens, Veda Warrior, and Miss Grass.

Metuchen Mayor Jonathan Busch expressed his enthusiasm for the new addition, stating that HoneyStash represents a positive development for the local economy by fostering job creation and ensuring responsible access to cannabis. He noted the transformation of a previously vacant space into a lively retail environment, which he hopes will thrive.

Jason Delia, president of the Metuchen Borough Council, highlighted the significance of supporting independent businesses like HoneyStash, which aligns with the town’s commitment to innovation while maintaining its small-town character. He emphasized the dispensary’s dedication to art and community, making it a fitting addition to Metuchen’s downtown area.

Despite the opening of HoneyStash, Edison, which is surrounded by Metuchen, has yet to see any dispensaries operating. The township holds 10 licenses for marijuana establishments that remain unused amid ongoing discussions and controversies surrounding cannabis regulation in the area.

Residents and visitors can find HoneyStash at 700 Middlesex Ave., Metuchen, NJ. For more details, they can contact the dispensary at 732-395-2444 or visit their website at honeygrovedispensary.com/shop/metuchen.
