Albanian Man Charged After Cannabis Farm Found in Norwich

An Albanian man is set to appear in court later this month following a police raid that uncovered a cannabis farm in Norwich. Kamber Shera, 38, was taken into custody during an early morning operation at a former retail location on Magdalen Street. He faces charges related to the production of cannabis and unauthorized electricity use.

Shera, who has no permanent address, previously faced deportation but re-entered the UK illegally. His court appearance is scheduled for June 27 at Norwich Crown Court, after he initially appeared at city magistrates a month earlier. During that first hearing, Shera indicated a guilty plea concerning his involvement in cannabis production. He was remanded in custody after admitting to violating a deportation order.

The court learned that Shera had been deported after serving a lengthy prison sentence in 2014. He later re-entered the UK by hiding in the back of a lorry and using a small boat.

The case highlights ongoing issues regarding illegal immigration and cannabis cultivation in the UK, as law enforcement continues to crack down on such operations.
