Happy Hippie Wellness, a CBD and gift shop located next to Cassville Dispensary, is organizing its inaugural Hippie Drippy Block Party on Friday, June 27, from 6 to 10 p.m. This event aims to celebrate cannabis and foster community connections in Barry County.
The Hippie Drippy Block Party will feature a variety of activities, including live music performances, food trucks, a tie-dye station, and vendor booths showcasing both cannabis brands and local artisans. Admission is free, allowing attendees to enjoy various offerings such as lemonade, ice cream, and barbecue while mingling with fellow community members.
This event is sponsored by Cassville Dispensary and Heartland Labs, with additional support from partners like Sinse, Robust, Twenty Twenty, Teal, ROVE, and Vivid. It aims to promote cannabis education and awareness in a relaxed environment, challenging the stigma surrounding cannabis use in rural areas.
Charlea Estes-Jones, General Manager of Cassville Dispensary, highlighted the importance of the event, stating, “In such a small, rural community, we regularly fight the stigmatization of cannabis being ‘bad’ or a gateway drug. Holding a cannabis-centric social gathering has never been done publicly in Barry County, and to see the community supportive of it really shows how valuable supporting and educating the local community is.”
Estes-Jones also expressed her appreciation for the local support over her five years in the role, noting the excitement and enthusiasm surrounding this gathering. She emphasized the importance of community engagement in reshaping perceptions about cannabis and its health benefits. “There is so much excitement building about our Hippie Drippy Block Party, and we hope it’s the first of many,” she added.
