Zahara Cannabis, a recreational marijuana dispensary located on Frank Mossberg Drive in Attleboro, has requested an extension of its operating hours from the city council and planning board. Currently, the dispensary operates from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Zahara’s director of retail operations, Michael Kochekian, proposed changing these hours to 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. during a public hearing held on Tuesday.
Kochekian argued that extending the hours would better serve the needs of their customers, allowing for increased convenience and accessibility. He emphasized that many customers prefer to shop later in the evening, particularly after work hours. The proposed change aims to accommodate this demand and enhance overall customer satisfaction.
The city council and planning board will review the request, considering factors such as community feedback, potential impacts on local traffic, and compliance with existing regulations. A decision regarding the request is expected to be made following further discussions and evaluations of the proposal.
Zahara Cannabis is part of a growing trend among dispensaries looking to expand their hours of operation to meet consumer demand in the evolving cannabis market. As recreational cannabis use becomes more mainstream, dispensaries are increasingly focusing on customer preferences to drive their business strategies.
